Get an online quote
Enter your postcode. We'll come back within 24 hours.
A likely system size + savings estimate based on your roof and the UK average for your area. No charge. No follow-up doorstep visit.
How the online process works
From postcode to switched-on, all by video.
1. Enter your postcode online
Takes 60 seconds. We use it to size a likely system from a UK average-roof model before the call, so we're not starting from zero.
2. Free 30-minute video consultation
A real Geko engineer walks you through your roof on a satellite map, your usage from your last bill, and what a system would actually look like on your home. No salesperson, no commission.
3. Custom design + transparent proposal
Designed in-house by an MCS engineer. Itemised cost. Equipment, install, warranty, finance — all on one page, sent by email. Walk away if it doesn't add up.
4. Install when you're ready
The only time we set foot on your property is install day. Typically one day on the roof. We register the system with the DNO and SEG and hand it over with the monitoring app live.
The honest comparison
Traditional solar sales vs. virtual.
The doorstep solar industry has trained a generation of UK homeowners to expect the worst. Here's the side-by-side.
Traditional doorstep / phone solar sales
- Sales rep visits your home (often booked under a different pretext)
- Pressure to sign on the night — "prices go up tomorrow"
- System sized by a commission-paid rep, not an engineer
- Quote rarely itemised — bundled price designed to make comparison hard
- Finance pushed at the door, often at high APRs
The Geko online way
- No one comes to your house until install day
- Quote sent by email. Take a week, take a month — your call
- Sized + designed in-house by an MCS engineer
- Itemised proposal: equipment, install, warranty, finance — all visible
- Finance options shown alongside outright purchase, no preference
FAQ
Buying solar online — the real questions.
Can I really buy solar online in the UK without anyone visiting?
Yes — every part of the buying decision happens by video call and email. The only on-site visit is the install itself. We size the system from satellite roof imagery + your bill data, designed by an MCS engineer, with full itemised pricing in writing. If you'd prefer an in-person survey before signing we'll do one, but it isn't required to get an accurate quote.
How does a virtual solar consultation work?
A 30-minute video call with a Geko engineer (not a salesperson). We share-screen your roof on a satellite map, walk through panel placement, sizing, and how it'll interact with your usage. We pull your last electricity bill into the calculation so the savings figures are personalised, not generic. You'll see exactly what the install would look like before any conversation about price.
Is buying solar online cheaper than the traditional doorstep route?
Usually, yes. Traditional solar sales bake the rep's commission (typically 10–18% of the system price) into your quote. Our virtual model removes that line item entirely. We also don't run high-pressure "only valid today" pricing — the quote you receive is the quote you'll get if you sign next month too.
What if my roof needs an in-person survey?
Some properties do — listed buildings, conservation areas, unusual roof shapes, or non-standard rafter spacing. We'll flag this on the video call and book a free site survey before any contract is signed. The survey doesn't lock you in.
Can I get an online solar quote with just my postcode?
Yes. Enter your postcode and we'll come back within 24 hours with a likely system size + savings estimate based on a UK average roof for your area. Refining that into an exact quote takes the 30-minute consultation, but you'll have a credible ballpark before that call.
Are you MCS-certified for the install?
Our MCS certification audit is currently in progress via the IAA. Every install is designed and signed off by an MCS-trained engineer to the same standards. Once the cert is issued, you'll be able to register the system for the Smart Export Guarantee from day one. We're insurance-backed via NICEIC's IBG scheme in the meantime, so workmanship is protected either way.
What you're covered by
MCS-aligned (audit in progress), TrustMark member, NICEIC-insured workmanship, 10-year workmanship warranty in writing, Tier-1 panels with 25-year manufacturer warranty. Read the full breakdown on our solar & battery full-spec page.
