The doorstep model is broken. Here is what replaced it.
Most UK solar companies still send a salesperson to your kitchen table. They show you a tablet with pre-loaded savings figures, quote a price that expires tonight, and push for a signature before they leave. The quote is designed to close, not to inform.
We do it differently. Our consultations happen over video with a qualified engineer who actually designs systems. They share their screen so you can see exactly what they see: your roof on satellite imagery, the panel layout being built in real time, and the numbers behind every recommendation.
You get the same technical quality as an on-site survey for most UK homes, without giving up an evening to a stranger on your sofa. And because there is no commission structure, the engineer has no reason to oversell you a bigger system than you need.

Questions about the video consultation.
How accurate is a video consultation compared to a home visit?
Very. We use high-resolution satellite imagery to measure your roof, assess orientation, and identify shading. For most UK homes this gives us everything we need. If your property has unusual roof geometry or is listed, we'll tell you upfront that a site visit is needed before we quote.
Who am I speaking to on the call?
A qualified engineer who designs and oversees installations. Not a sales rep reading from a script. They can answer technical questions about panel output, inverter sizing, battery chemistry, and grid connection on the spot.
How long does the video call take?
About 30 minutes. Some calls run shorter if your setup is straightforward. We won't rush you out and we won't keep you on the phone for two hours either.
Do I need to prepare anything?
A recent electricity bill helps us size the system to your actual usage. If you don't have one to hand, your annual kWh figure from your supplier app works fine. We can also work from estimates if needed.
Is this available nationwide?
Yes. We install across England, Wales, and Scotland. The video consultation works the same wherever you are. Our install teams travel to you.
What if my roof isn't suitable?
We'll tell you. If your roof faces north, has heavy shading, or the structure raises concerns, we won't try to sell you a system that won't perform. Roughly one in five consultations ends with us advising against solar for that property. We'd rather lose the sale than fit a system you'll regret.
Will anyone try to pressure me into signing?
No. The quote is valid indefinitely. We don't do limited-time offers, we don't have sales targets, and nobody is paid commission. Decide in your own time.
