Halifax pays up to £1,000 cashback
If you're a Halifax mortgage customer, you can claim £1,000 cashback on solar (plus a £750 install discount on top) — but only when the install is delivered by Halifax's panel installer, Effective Home. We've laid both routes out below so you can decide what suits you.

How to claim
- 01Halifax's £1,000 solar cashback is payable only when the install is delivered by their partner installer, Effective Home.
- 02Effective Home offers a £750 package discount to Halifax customers on top — combined benefit ~£1,750 via that route.
- 03If you choose a different installer (e.g. Geko), the £1,000 solar cashback isn't available. You can still claim the £500 cashback tier for other works (insulation, double-glazing etc.) — that tier isn't installer-restricted.
- 04Submit invoices via the Green Living Reward portal within 12 months of completion.
Important context
If your priority is the £1k cashback, Halifax's panel installer Effective Home is the route. If your priority is having your install designed in-house and signed off by a Geko MCS engineer with a 10-year workmanship warranty, that's the Geko route. Most of our customers value the install quality + after-care over the cashback — but the choice is yours, and we'll walk you through both honestly on a free consultation.
